APTECA expands aflatoxin testing qualification to individuals from 8 African countries.

In April, APTECA conducted trainings in Kigali Rwanda, Kampala Uganda and Dar es Salaam Tanzania. A total of 60 participants qualified in performing aflatoxin analysis on the Neogen Q+ and Vicam aflatest platforms. This, combined with training 11 analysts from government labs in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Malawi during November 2015, and 35 analysts from the public and private sector of Kenya in September, 2015 has improved overall testing accuracy in the Region and has helped improve food safety for approximately 16 million Kenyans and many more in eastern and southern Africa.
